Positives of a Gas Stove for Homesteading
Feb 25, 2025
Electric stoves are great, until you don't have electricity.
Gas stoves are great, until you run out of gas.
Cooking over a campfire is great, until it is raining or super cold.
Q: What do you do?
A: Whatever you can.
Our personal goal is to have two different stoves since we a kitchen in our home and one in our venue for teaching classes. That is not the case for 99.99% of others.
There are smaller portable gas stoves.
You can also have some over for outdoor cooking.
Whatever you do, just try to have more than one way to cook food AND have some food preserved.
One of our homesteading goals is to have enough jars on hand to be able to can all of our freezer meat before it is goes bad if we ever lose electricity for an extended amount of time and to have enough propane on hand to be able to continuously use the pressure canner.
